“Ultimately, this is about an individual's right to privacy”

No, it’s not; it’s about the rule of law and the role of courts in a democratic society.

I wish these left-wing gay interest groups would just tell the truth: they want to win by judicial fiat what they have so far been largely unable to win by legislative mandate. At least then we could have an honest discussion.

Well now, that sounds like they have to let you define what they are about, before you will debate with them. That doesn’t really seem fair.

Friednly note: that ‘classic college’ post is a spambot. The latest tactic is to set up a legitimate-looking blog and then post friendly comments everywhere pointing to it. The PageRank the blog gets translates into higher PageRank for the links in the sidebar of the blog.

If that bot was using TypeKey, you should report it.

Hey, they’re out there trying to win every way they can. But the judicial isn’t helping right now, and people’s rights are being ignored. People are out there trying to be seen and show that gay people are regular people, but the current legislation is happy to ignore us and downplay us. Look at GayPatriot, everytime someone says something to that effect that the legislature needs to work on rights, people there say “But we’re at war! What’s more important, your security or your rights?” And then Bush goes off on 5 week vacation, or works on some other bill that isn’t important but rights? Oh no. The judicial has traditionally been the best way for rights to be won. That’s how blacks got their rights. The legistlature and the current party in power doesn’t want to play at all. (Republicans are wary to even invite log cabin’s to events because it would acknowledge the existance of gay people, which goes against their current strategy of “There aren’y many out there and they’re all perverts”).
