Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani told CNN Wednesday he supports public funding for some abortions, a position he advocated as mayor and one that will likely put the GOP presidential candidate at odds with social conservatives in his party.

“It isn’t my role to determine what is a sin, what isn’t a sin,” he said. “What my role is, what is legal, what is illegal, I have been really clear on that role throughout my life.”
As it relates to homosexuals and homosexuality, what should the law say?Here the mayor inappropriately conflates sin with immorality. Something can be a sin without being immoral. I grew up in the Church of Christ, which is quite fundamentalist. We believed that the use of musical instruments during worship was a sin, i.e. contrary to the teachings of the New Testament.
