If I scored last night’s debate on points, I’d give it to Joe Biden. But … if I scored the debate on artistic impression, I’d say that Sarah Palin blew Biden out like explosive diarrhea.
Did she save McCain’s candidacy? I don’t know, though I doubt it. But she did guarantee her future in national Republican politics. Whatever happens to this year’s GOP ticket, it won’t be the last one to bear the name Palin.

So, yes, Sarah Palin saved herself tonight. But John McCain is the one who really needs to be saved, and soon it will be too late for that.
